Built By Teams,
For Teams

FirstHand was born from a simple observation at competitions: teams often have spare parts they don't need, while others are desperately searching for that one component to keep competing. We're here to bridge that gap.

Speed When It Matters

Competition season moves fast. Our platform is built for quick connections and instant communication between teams.

Gracious Professionalism

We uphold FIRST's core values of cooperation and mutual respect in every interaction on our platform.

Our Story

It started at a regional competition in 2024. A team's motor controller failed during qualifications, and they had no spares. By chance, a neighboring team had exactly what they needed sitting unused in their pit. That quick trade kept both teams competitive.

But what if they hadn't been neighbors? What if the team with spares was across the venue, or at a different event entirely? That's when the idea for FirstHand was born.

We built FirstHand to replicate that serendipitous moment of one team helping another—but at scale. Now, any team can find what they need, connect with teams who have it, and keep building and competing.
